Thursday, July 3rd

Cosmic Shaved Ice FOAM Party – 6 pm to 8 pm at Starlite Beach. Free & fun for all ages!

True North Radio Network 2025 Summer Concert Series – Featuring The Persuasion Band from 7 pm to 10 pm at Bay View Park Bandshell. Free and all ages welcome.

Knaebe’s Opening Day – Knaebe’s opening day at the Water Street Commons in Downtown Alpena will be held from 11 am to 7 pm.

4th of July Fireworks – Display begins at dusk and will be launched from a barge off Bay View Park.

Friday, July 4th

Sandcastle Contest – Registration begins at 8 am. Judging begins at 3 pm. Winners announced at 4 pm.

47th Annual Independence Day Dork Brothers 5k & 1 Mile Run/Walk – Registration begins at 7:30 am. Race begins at 8:30 am at the Aplex, 701 Woodward Ave.

HPC Credit Union 4th of July Parade – Begins at 11 am starting at the Fairgrounds, proceeds east on 11th, south on Chisholm, east on 2nd, and ends just before the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary Parking lot on Fletcher St.

Alpena Optimist Rubber Duck Race – Tickets will be sold during the parade, and rubber ducks are released after the parade at the 9th St. bridge and will float down the river to Rotary Island Mill Park.

Alpena Street Performers – Live music from local musicians from 6 pm to 8 pm. Locations include Red Brick Tap & Barrel Food Truck Court, Pocket Park by Mango’s Tequila Bar, and 2nd Ave. near Downtown Scoops.

Alpena City Band Patriotic Concert – Begins at 7:30 at the Bandshell at Bay View Park.

Saturday & Sunday, July 5th & 6th

Thunder-Con – The Thunder Bay Science Fiction and Fantasy Con begins at 11 am to 5 pm at Art in the Loft in Downtown Alpena. Free and fun for all ages!
