HAND-CRAFTED LOTION – THE NATURAL WAY
This hands-on class is for those who want to learn how to make & customize their own lip balm, hard lotion bar and a natural deodorant. Many store-bought, manufactured body products are laden with chemicals, toxins and alcohol. Natural body products can be made right at home using natural oils, butters & other skin-nourishing ingredients; there are no chemicals and nothing that will dry out your skin. Instructor Kira Bixel, co-owner and operator of Bixel Family Farm began making goat milk soap and lotion to provide natural alternatives for family and friends. The hobby became a part-time business for their small farm. Kira and her family raise alpine goats, cows, and pigs. When not on the farm, Kira is at Alpena Farmers Market selling bath & body products and seasonal produce. Students will go home with (1) lip balm, (1) hard lotion bar, and (1) natural deodorant. Scent options will be available.
