What’s Happening in Alpena on the 4th of July? 2021 Edition.

Posted on June 29th, 2021
Wondering what to do, where to go, and what to see this year in Alpena on 4th of July weekend? You’ve come to the right place! Here is our list of everything (that we know of) happening for the public this year:

July 3rd

Coffee & Cars – Coffee and Cars is a casual event from 8 am – 12 pm for those who own classic cars and want to get out and enjoy Downtown Alpena on Saturday mornings with others that share their interests. To participate as a car collector, drive your classic or collectible car downtown and park anywhere within the district. Grab a coffee from Cabin Creek or Biggby and hang out downtown, walk around to find the other cars, duck into a few stores to do some shopping, or just enjoy your coffee on a picnic table in Culligan Plaza or along Second Ave.

Long Lake Lights Festival –  Long Lake Lights Fest is back to light up the sky over Long Lake! Pre-fireworks show with the Ellers from 2 pm – 5 pm at the barge on the Long Lake Sandies (watercraft needed to attend this portion). Then grab dinner and drinks at The Sand Bar & Grill with touring CMA artist Donald Benjamin and his band with an outdoor concert (no watercraft needed!) 7 pm – 12 am. Last but not least, the fireworks show will begin at dusk at The Sand Bar & Grill over Long Lake. You can find out more about the festival and changes that have been made this year on their website https://www.longlakelightsfestival.com/.
