A Tribute to Six Michigan Women Who Changed History

Myra K. Wolfgang, labor union organizer. Grace Lee Boggs, philosopher and activist. Laura Smith Haviland, an abolitionist and conductor on the underground railroad, and others.

Featuring “This Little Light of Mine,” “Oh! What a Beautiful City,” this 45-minute show will leave you inspired by the legacy of women activists in Michigan and hopeful about building a better world right in your own backyard. Directed by Karen Sheridan.

Kamryn Marck is a performer, writer, and ecological gardener based in Royal Oak, Michigan. She studied Musical Theatre at Oakland University and has worked as an actress and teaching artist with theater companies around the Midwest. Kamryn has fallen in love with local women’s history. Her one-woman-plays “Women of the Watch: Keepers of the Light” and “Movers, Shakers, and Music Makers,” are still touring Michigan and have over 100 combined performances. Her most recent play, “Three Needles and Suture,” had a successful run at The Lorenzo Cultural Center and a subsequent tour.
