Learn about Salvador Dali’s prints made from hand carved wood blocks, and carve your own!
In partnership with the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan, Poppyseed’s Collective will teach a block carving and printing workshop (using rubber blocks because they’re easier for beginners). This is a great way to learn some art history and get hands on with the process itself!
In this two hour workshop, you’ll learn all the steps it takes to print with a freshly carved rubber block!
- Transferring a design
- Carving your block (2×2 inch rubber blocks)
- Inking your block (black ink)
- Printing your design
All supplies will be provided: designs to transfer, rubber blocks, carving tools, brayers, ink, and paper.
Once prints have been printed, we will wash our blocks off and you’ll keep them for yourselves!
Be aware of smudging when taking your prints home with you! Full dry time is about 3 days.
Ages 15+ due to handling sharp tools
$35 per person
Please direct message Poppyseed’s Collective to claim your spot and to pay! (Cash, paypal, venmo, cashapp)
