Support Local Heroes Fighting Hunger

September is “Hunger Action Month”  and our food program workers are in dire need of our help. 22% of our kids are food insecure in Alpena County – almost 3 times the state level (2023). One in four of our kids don’t know where their next meal is coming from. This is critical!

LWVNEMI is hosting an event to connect food programs with additional volunteers and donors. We expect over 16 food programs to participate on the 20th. But we need your help!

Come solo or grab your book club, trivia team, or yoga classmates and make an investment of money and/or time to support our local heroes!
