Fletcher’s Floodwaters

Fletcher’s Floodwaters, or Fletcher’s Pond, is a one-in-a-million fishing experience you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in Michigan. The pond is located on the border of Alpena and Montmorency counties. It is a flooding of Thunder Bay River and features maximum depths of about 10 ft across its nearly 9,000 acres of open water. Stumps from a forgotten forest lurk just under the surface, making fishing here plentiful and unique. There are also a number of Osprey nests on the flooding making for some excellent raptor watching. Lodging is available on the pond including Fletcher’s Landing and Jack’s Landing Resort.
