If you follow visit_alpena on Instagram, you can see it’s been a quite a “gram-worthy” summer! As we prep for back-to-school on Monday now is the perfect time to reflect on those sandy summer memories.
Here are just a few of our favorites from our Instagram feed this summer…
We made it through a wildly wet spring/early summer, resulting in water levels higher than we’ve seen in many years on the Thunder Bay River and Lake Huron!
We shopped local and fresh at the Alpena Farmer’s Market…
We, as a community with the talented Tony Hendrick, rebuilt the Fish Mural…
Speaking of murals, the “Fresh Waves” arts initiative led by the DDA introduced this beauty on the back of Family Enterprise Embroidery’s building in downtown Alpena!
We did A LOT of paddleboarding…
We paddleboarded over shipwrecks…
…and we paddleboarded next to people snorkeling shipwrecks!
We did what Alpena does best, watched the sunrise over Lake Huron.
We fished our inland lakes, notorious for some of the best bronzebacks around!
We hosted several travel photographers eager to capture the beautiful treasure trove of Rockport State Recreation Area.
We truly made the most out of our beautiful summer…#puremichiganmemories
